A beautiful freestanding Photo Frame created from a used, lucky horseshoe. Only used horseshoes are said to be lucky as the luck is struck into them with every footfall of the horse. The horseshoe is welded securely to a hammered steel base ready to be placed in the mantle, windowsill, shelf or bedside table. Where ever you like to keep your horse close.

Use your own horseshoes

Choose from using you own horse or pony’s shoes or have us create from our own stock of used shoes. Please do note that we do not change the shape or size of any horseshoes. We work with them to preserve their natural wear and character. If using your own shoes please bear in mind the internal size of your shoe will be the size photo you can fit in it. Each frame will come with a template to cut your photo to and a removable anti-reflective sheet that you may chose to use or not to your preference to protect your photo.

Handmade by UK artisans

Every shoe from our own used stock of shoes are from a by product of Barry’s farriery work. Each shoe has nails and clips removed. Rust, nail, dirt and even twisted shoes are not a problem. Every shoe is heated in the forge to burn away rust and hand cleaned. Shoes are then brushed and buffed and sealed to protect from rust.

English, dark havana leather is hand cut to size for every horseshoe individually and then hand stitched by Lucy Ellis Leatherwork to create a one of a kind photo frame.

Why not personalise it?

Hand stamped text is available to make your frame extra special and personalise your shoe with names, dates or a phrase. Please note if using your own horseshoe what text we can fit will depend on the size and type of shoe you have. Our letter stamps are 3mm tall and require a space of 1mm above and below so very small or very fine shoes may not be possible to personalise. We will contact you to discuss if there is any problem with personalisation.

A celebration of an event or show

Why not keep the shoes that have been worn to a show or event and send them to us to create a reminder of a special day. Perhaps personalise it with the show name and date?

A lasting keepsake

We always believe it’s worth keeping any shoes from your horse or pony, just ask your farrier for them, if the shoes are not being refitted we are sure they won’t mind you having them. Creating a frame from a passed horse or pony and displaying their photo within them makes for a wonderful keepsake.

Care of your Horseshoe Photo Frame

Each shoe is treated in sealant to protect from rust in an indoor environment. Please keep your shoe away from wet and damp. Keep clean by wiping with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Keep away from detergents, cleaning agents and perfumes.

Lead Times:

We aim to dispatch candle, textile & gift voucher within 3 working days of receipt of your order.

For horseshoe creation lead times please bear in mind we are not Amazon! Please be understanding of the time, effort and care that goes into what we do.

The majority of our pieces are hand forged and crafted to order. In general please allow 3 weeks lead time for dispatch of your order. We do endeavour to be as quick as we can. We combine Horseshoe Hearts work alongside farriery (and any emergencies that occur with this!) and other work, family life and our own animals.

Please allow 4 weeks lead time for Braided Horsehair items and Horseshoe Photo Frames.

Some larger pieces and larger bespoke orders may take longer lead time.

Please Note: If using your own horse’s shoes delivery lead times are from the date your shoes are received by us, not the order date. Please ensure shoes arrive with us as promptly as possible.

Fast Track:

Fast Track is available on some horseshoe items for an additional charge.

Eligible items have Fast Track options on them on each individual item. These items have a 7 day lead time on receipt of your order, or if sending your own shoes 7 days from receipt of your shoes arriving with us. Please note we cannot guarantee any dispatch of an order in less than 7 days.

Sending your own shoes:

The address to send your horseshoes to is Horseshoe Hearts, 3 Cromer Close, Little Gaddesden, Herts, HP4 1PR. Please include a note with your name and order number so we know they are your shoes.

On check out you will be given the option to select your item under 2kg to be sent to you via Royal Mail First Class Signed For or via Special Delivery. Please note the only Special Delivery is tracked. Signed For acknowledges when the item is sent and when the item was received. It is not a tracked service. If you are sending precious shoes we recommend Special Delivery or other Tracked and Signed Service.

All items over 2kg will be sent with a courier (usually UPS) and are sent on a tracked and signed service.

International Orders:

We are happy to ship to most locations worldwide. International Delivery is for International Standard delivery. Approx. transit/shipping time between 5-10 days depending on your location. We cannot guarantee shipping times.
